In February, Timepath expanded into a full storytelling suite. This March, we take the next step: turning interactive content into data-driven insight.

With 9 new Quiz and Poll formats, plus the launch of Data Timeline and Data Quiz, Timepath introduces a new category of storytelling: interactive data storytelling for publishers, newsrooms, and B2B teams.

Data-driven Storytelling

Interactive content has long been used to drive engagement, clicks, and time on page. But for modern publishers in financial journalism, political reporting, and B2B media, engagement alone isn’t enough.

You need tools that add context to complex topics and connect events to real-world impact. This product update is built around that shift: moving from simple consumption to deep understanding. We’ve introduced two premium formats designed to bridge the gap between narrative and hard data, moving the needle from "what happened" to "what it actually meant."

NEW: Data Timeline

The Data Timeline is a new premium template in the Timepath Timeline Editor that combines event-based storytelling with time-series data visualization. It allows users to overlay specific events directly onto continuous data charts.

  • Purpose: To visualize cause-and-effect relationships.

  • Key Benefit: Provides readers with the necessary context to understand why data fluctuates over time.

  • Example Use Cases:

    • Company milestones vs. stock price performance

    • Political events vs. polling data trends

    • Economic decisions vs. inflation or GDP data

NEW: Data Quiz

The Data Quiz extends this concept into the Quiz Editor, enabling interactive quizzes based on data interpretation. Instead of testing factual recall, Data Quiz challenges users to analyze charts, trends, and datasets.

  • Purpose: To challenge users to analyze trends, charts, and datasets to find the correct answer.

  • Key Benefit: Increases reader comprehension and turns passive consumption into active learning.

  • Example Use Cases:

    • Financial literacy quizzes based on market data

    • Political quizzes using polling trends

    • Economic explainers with real datasets

9 New Interactive Formats: Quizzes & Polls

We have introduced nine new formats designed to boost user engagement, shareability, and editorial depth.

NEW Quiz Formats

  • Timeline Quiz: Users place events in chronological order. Use cases: history, news explainers, and year-in-review content.

  • Map Quiz: Geography-based guessing with distance-based scoring on an interactive map. Use cases: global news and geography-based stories.

  • Personality Test: Outcome-based quizzes designed for high social shareability. Use cases: audience engagement and viral content.

  • Expert Feedback: Educational format where every answer includes a detailed editorial explanation. Use cases: educational content and in-depth journalism.

  • Horoscope Quiz: Zodiac-based engagement for lifestyle and entertainment sections. Use cases: lifestyle, entertainment, and recurring engagement formats.

NEW Poll Formats

  • Candidate Vote: Advanced voting with profiles, images, and live leaderboards. Use cases: elections and awards.

  • Head-to-Head Poll: Side-by-side comparisons for quick audience decisions and high conversion. Use cases: tournament-style matchups (e.g., best movie or TV show), policy debates, or binary opinion splits on trending news.

  • Drag Ranking Poll: Users rank items by preference to provide clear prioritization and feedback data. Use cases:  prioritizing news topics, curating "Best of" year-end lists, or gathering audience feedback on future coverage.

Technical Specifications

All new formats are optimized for professional publishing workflows:

  • Universal Embedding: Compatible with any CMS via iframe or script.

  • Global Reach: Full support for 11 languages.

  • Enterprise Features: Performance analytics, reusable templates, and dark mode support.
