Kwesi Ahwoi

Kwesi Ahwoi, previously the Minister for the Interior of Ghana, assumed the role of the first Ghanaian ambassador to Comoros in 2015. Additionally, he serves as the ambassador of Ghana to four other countries: Lesotho, Mauritius, the Seychelles, and Swaziland.

 

 

 

 

Further Education and Specialization

budgetingfinancialBetween 1980 and 1981, Ahwoi pursued Postgraduate Certificates in Budgeting and financial management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. He furthered his education with a Postgraduate Certificate in Planning and Resource Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, United States, from 1985 to 1986.

Career

Ahwoi's career spans government and business sectors. He served as the chief executive officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre during the Rawlings administration. Following the December 2008 presidential election, President John Atta Mills appointed him as Minister for Food and Agriculture. In January 2013, President John Dramani Mahama appointed Ahwoi as Minister for the Interior of Ghana, a position he held until July 16, 2014.

 

 

 

Diplomatic Service
