Johnny Depp

John Christopher Depp II was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. His father, John Christopher Depp, was a civil engineer. His mother was Betty Sue Palmer, a waitress. Johnny Depp has a brother and two sisters. One of his sisters, Christie, is his manager.

Johnny Depp received his first guitar from his mother on his twelfth birthday. He later formed a band with his friends and would often play in his garage. Three years after he found a love for music, his parents got divorced and Johnny Depp turned to drugs. 

Johnny made the decision to drop out of High School when he was 16 years old to pursue music. He became a member of a band called The Kidz. The band experienced a reasonable amount of success in a short period of time. 

Johnny Depp met Nicolas Cage though a former female with which he had an intimate relationship. Meeting Nicolas Cage would be the turning point for Johnny Depp’s career. Nicolas Cage connected Johnny Depp to key people in the music industry resulting in Johnny Depp getting more opportunities. 

Johnny Depp got married to Lori Anne Allison on December 20, 1983. Lori was very instrumental to Johnny Depp’s success in the acting world. It was Lori who had introduced Johnny Depp to Nicolas Cage.

This was Johnny Depp’s first role. ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ gave Johnny Depp an opportunity to showcase his acting skills. Prior to becoming a popular actor, He was a salesman making only $30 per week. 

Johnny Depp further established himself as a versatile and highly skilled actor in John Waters’ ‘Cry Baby’. The film was a musical comedy which was set in the 1950s. The film did not have much success at the box office, but it developed into a classic over the years. 

 Johnny Depp developed a friendship with Tim Burton who was the director of ‘Edward Scissorhands’. Depp starred in the film alongside Winona Ryder. Ryder played the role of Kim Boggs in the film.

Depp stars in a number of popular movies over the years. One of the films that really pleased the actor’s fans was ‘Donnie Brasco’. Depp starred alongside Al Pacino in the Mike Newell-filmed movie. Depp played the role of an undercover FBI Agent who takes on the name ‘Donnie Brasco’.

During the filming of ‘Ninth Grade’, Johnny Depp met Vanessa Paradis, a woman that he would later say he fell in love with at first sight. Vanessa Paradis is a French actress, singer, and model. The couple never ended up getting engaged; however, they had two children together – Lily-Rose and Jack.

Johnny Depp played the role of Jack Sparrow in the movie series, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. This was one of Johnny Depp’s biggest roles of all time. The movies received tremendous support and attention. It was an incredible hit at the box offices. This gave Johnny Depp’s career a big boost. 

Tim Burton called upon Johnny Depp again to star in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Tim Burton is the director behind ‘Frankenweenie’, ‘Batman’, ‘James and the Giant Peach’, ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Batman Returns, ‘Corpse Bride’, ‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and many more films. 

The return of the crazy man, Jack Sparrow, was a major pleasure for the fans of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. The film was released three years after ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl’ was released. The film was directed by Gore Verbinski. It was produced by Jerry Buckheimer and written by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio. 

This marked the third time that Johnny Depp stood before Gore Verbinski’s camera. 

Johnny Depp starred in the movie, ‘Sweeney Todd’. The actor won a Golden Globe for his performance in this movie on December 19, 2007. He acted alongside Helena Bonham Carter, the wife of his close friend, Tim Burton. 

Johnny Depp plays the Mad Hatter in ‘Alice in Wonderland’. You will notice that Johnny Depp often wears a hat when he is acting. As a result of this trend, he was the perfect person for this role. 

This instalment in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series saw a new director, Rob Marshall. The film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. This instalment in the series saw the likes of a new actress, Penelope Cruz. The movie was released in North America on May 20, 2011. It was released two days later in the United Kingdom and other territories. 

After denying rumors about the instability of his relationship with Paradis, it was confirmed by his representative in June 2012 that the two had split up.

Depp met Amber Heard on the set of ‘The Rum Diary’. They were first seen together shortly after Depp and Paradis had split up in 2012. The two got engaged in 2013 on Christmas Eve. They later got married in February 2015. 

The love story between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard came to a surprising stop when Heard filed for divorce and a restraining order against the actor. Heard claimed that Johnny Depp was verbally and physically abusive.

While on the set of his film, ‘City of Lies’ Depp allegedly hit a location manager. It was said that Depp got upset with the ending of a day of production. His accusers said that he punched the location manager twice.

Depp continues to face accusations from his relationship with Amber Heard. The actor files a defamation of character case against a newspaper that said he physically abused Amber Heard
